Here are some slang terms you may hear while you are at the dealership, this may help you understand what they arfe taliking about.

Some of the words or phrases you may hear

  1.  M.S.R.P.:  this simple means the manufactures suggested retail price. Sometimes referred as the Marony sticker, or even just the window sticker.

  2.The A.C.V.: This the actual cash value for your trade. It could also mean what the dealer payed for a car as well.

  3. AN UP: Well thats you, salespeople refer to customers as ups.

  4. Upside down: This is when you owe more on your trade than what it is worth. Also referred as negative equity.

  5. Phone Pop: When a potential customer phones into the dealership for info or pricing on a vehicle.

  6. Gap Insurance: A product offered by most lenders to help you protect yourself against negative equity in the event your vehicle becomes totaled." I highly recommend this product if you are financing a high dollar vehicle"

  7. Gross Profit: The amount of money the dealership is making on a deal.

  8. Demo: Also called a demonstrator, A vehicle driven by an employee of the company as a perk to there job
